It’s always a good idea to come prepared to your interview; researching your hospital ahead of time, bringing all the essential paperwork, knowing where to park and how to get in, but what really makes all the difference is how you perform in your interview. 5. What personal as well as academic or clinical skills do you have that will help you succeed in our program?

6. What are your greatest professional strengths? Weaknesses?

7. What is your greatest professional achievement?

8. Name a time you had a challenge or conflict at work and how you dealt with it. How would you handle it now? The same or differently?

9. Name a stressful situation and how you went about it. Looking back, would there have been a better way to handle that situation?

10. Name a time (nursing or non-nursing) where you had a patient/customer become upset? How did you deal with this?

11. Is there a time you can think of where it is okay to bend or break the rules?

12. Cultural competence and respect are important in nursing. How have you incorporated cultural competency into your own nursing practice?

14. What do you like to do on your days off? What are some of your hobbies?
